Godrevy on the Towans
£20*
Join artist Hilary Jean Gibson and former ranger of the Towans, Martin Rule to sketch and identify the flora of the Cornish Hedge at Godrevy on the Towans.
At CREST, we are all about finding ways to connect to our endangered rural craft of Cornish hedging, and this is a way to appreciate our Cornish Hedges with creativity. Collaborating with Friends of the Towans Art Club, we shall be looking at the Cornish hedges of the Towans which burst with life amongst the dunes.
During this sketchbook walk we will explore how to make a visual diary of the Cornish Hedge, starting with an introduction to mark making with plenty of opportunity to explore your style and develop your sketching lead by both an experienced artist and an expert of the Towans.
Martin Rule, expert on the Towans landscape after many years as Towans ranger will be giving us input on how and why these hedges are here and identify some of the flora and fauna we find in this natural habitat.
Please bring a sketchbook and materials you want to use. Pencils, and a limited supply of coloured water soluble pencils will be available for you to borrow and we will also supply some magnifying glasses.
Please bring a picnic, something to drink, something light to sit on, sun hat, cream and stout shoes.
