Join our 5-day Foundation course near Sancreed, West Cornwall, and learn how to build a Cornish Hedge with local granite in the style of the region.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Beginners can learn the field-style of hedging to get to grips with the craft and its basic principles. Those with more experience, wanting to prepare for their intermediate training, can get to grips with dressed granite.
This training is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in our hands-on learning as well as the landscape. In the spirit of adventure, CREST is offering an optional experiential learning extra on this Foundation course as an early morning option to explore hedging through Deeper Ecology, taking a journey through our ancient granite, hedging ancestors and our future generations who will tend the hedges we build today. The law of two feet applies at all times so you can join in if you fancy a deeper dive or arrive at normal time to crack on with Lantra training.
Our training site is on a remote farm, nestled in a beautiful nature reserve. By the end of the week, you will have gained some significant skills and had the chance to thoroughly practice.
