Introduction to the Ecology and Botany of the Cornish hedge with Budding Nature

Fridays 29th March and/ 0r 19th April

10am – 2pm

£10 per workshop

Budding Nature CIC will be running a 2-workshop ‘Introduction to the Ecology of Cornish Hedges’ and a third workshop ‘Introduction to Botany’ course at a later date.

The first two sessions cover food webs, other interactions between species, ecological succession, factors affecting species populations, and the important role of Cornish hedges in nature recovery in Cornwall.

The third workshop (date TBC) provides a gentle introduction to plant identification, teaching you how to recognise 10 of the main plant families, and how to identify many of the plants commonly found in Cornish hedges. The workshop involves an indoor morning session identifying specimens, followed by an afternoon in the field, putting your newfound knowledge into practice.

Each workshop involves an indoor ‘classroom’ session, followed by some time outside looking at hedges in the field. The second workshop builds on the first, so attendance at both sessions is encouraged but not required. Contact crest@cornwallheritagetrust.org to book.

*A limited number of bursary funded places are available for those in financial hardship.
